I was just talking to one of my oldest friends and he reminded me of the time that I taught him how to properly say the words "edit", "magenta" and "etcetera".

I remember so clearly how he used to say "ed - IT" and "mag - NEE - ta"...

I don't really know why I thought this was worth posting, I just love remembering small things like that and I didn't want to forget it again.

That's all.

Describe your dream house (even if it's not a house).

An enormous mansion decorated in a very modern way by a legit interior designer. The outside would look really old (and maybe have vines growing on it to complete the cliche, but the inside would look new and fresh, most rooms given light colours. The kitchen would be the best part, with windows lining the walls overlooking the enormous rose garden (which comes courtesy of the prize-winning gardener I will hire). There will be a fireplace in the main living room so I can spend winter nights reading in front of it; but it will be far away from the TV (I hate being hot while I watch TV - one of my weird things).

Now I want to go on The Sims 2 and create it... hey wait! The Sims 3 comes out today! Woo!

Do you seek attention or hide from it?

I definitely hide from it. I can't stand having attention on me, in general I prefer to be alone than around people.

It became official yesterday that I will soon be working at Liquorland! I'm rather excited because it's an awesome job. When the manager (who I met and is lovely) is not there, my sister will sometimes be my boss, which should be great! Also, it pays about $20 an hour (that's $14.51 US, or 9.77 pounds, for the international people who might be reading this). There won't be too many hours which is fantastic because I'm a university student... and the best part of all? The store is a 10 minute walk or a 1 minute drive from my house!!

So psyched to be finally getting some money!

It's actually a REALLY interesting story! You see, my name is Andrew Russell, thus the andrewr, and my birthday is the 24th of October, 1990! Isn't that fascinating?

What movie, whether it was nominated by the Academy or not, gets your personal vote for Best Picture of 2008?

Changeling. It is the best film ever created in my opinion. Just amazing.

What is your personal motto or favorite quotation?

View 501 Answers

I don't have a favourite motto or quotation, but I think if I go into the log of answers on this question and see some inspirational "Be yourself" or "Never give up" crap, or song lyrics or anything vague and philosophical relating to the larger fabric of life, I might scream.

Update: *is screaming*

Valentine's Day: love it or hate it?

I have no opinion towards whether it is good or bad. All it is is an opportunity to use a cheap flower to get into someone's pants. No wonder so many babies are born in November.

Today marks the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. Obama's campaign was built around a message of change. What changes would you most like to see in the next 4 years?

I don't see the big deal about Obama getting elected. I personally think his wife would be more qualified for the job.

Well, it's half an hour from over, but I just thought I'd tell everyone (being the five contacts I have) about my day. Actually screw that, my mother's hilarious religion-hating cousin came over and we had heaps of laughs. That was that. What I really want to tell is the awesome list of gifts I got. So, here goes:

---------------------------------------------------

Wii
Wii Classic Controller
Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii)
Harvest Moon Magical Melody (Wii)

2 shirts
Shorts
Boxer shorts

Private Practice Season 1
Desperate Housewives Season 3
Kyle XY Season 1

Book - I Can Has Cheezburger
Book – Here's The Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice by Maureen McCormick

Nokia 5000 phone
Buffy calendar
Torch
DVD – Robbie Coltrane’s Incredible Britain
Can of Fanta Grape
Cadbury chocolate stocking

---------------------------------------------------

So, there you have it. I feel quite awesome about this year's haul :). That is all

The holiday season happens to overlap with cold and flu season (and not just the bottle flu). When you get sick, do you go to work or school anyway, or do you stay home to avoid spreading your germs?

I go to school anyway - I'm not falling behind just to spare others getting sick.

Well, I realise how long it's been since I've been able to post, but that's because there is simply nothing to say! I've been on an extended holiday since the beginning of November so there has really been nothing exciting to recount, no exciting thoughts to share... I've been enjoying myself but to outsiders my life would look extremely boring.

I saw Twilight at an advance screening on the 3rd of December (being an advance screening for Australia, elsewhere it's been out for a few weeks - stupid time delay). It was possibly the most awesome movie I've seen all year. I won't say ever because I don't like to do that, but it was truly epic.

Of all the characters in the movie (as opposed to the book) I'll say that Rosalie is my favourite. She was so much prettier and more suited to the role than any of us could have known - she totally had the 'psycho bitch' thing down. Jasper was cute, too, in a strictly puppy dog sense.

I'm really looking forward to Christmas - I love the spirit and the decorations and the presents; but mostly the decorations. Oh and the lights. The lights are always great. Religious garbage aside, anyone who doesn't like Christmas is someone who just has no inner child - and that is an incredibly sad and deprived place to be. We already have one present under our tree - that excites me to no end.

Anyway, that's all from me for now. I thought I'd better get something down so I can get back into the habit so I'm not abandoning LiveJournal.

That's all.

The Twilight movie comes out today. A lot of people are really excited about seeing Bella and Edward on the big screen. Others couldn't care less. Where do you fall on the issue?

I can't WAIT! I'm in Australia so I have to wait until December 3, but still I can't wait!

Hospital dramas are a time-honored staple of television, from General Hospital to County General to Seattle Grace. Which TV hospital would you most want to check in to? And who would be your doctor?

View 501 Answers

Definitely Seattle Grace. Then I could be one of those insightful patients that gives the doctors great advice and perspective about their personal lives.

My doctor would have to be either Meridith Grey or Izzie Stevens. Cristina Yang is my favourite character, however I'd hate her as a doctor because I'd need someone who could break any bad news gently.

A lot of characters in kids' books have it pretty good, from calling the start of the wild rumpus to ordering room service from their hotel suite. If you could be any character from children's literature, who would you be?

Angelina Johnson from the Harry Potter series. She's a strong, confident black woman; just as I aspire to be.

Today is sign out day, which means everyone goes into school one last time and signs a piece of paper saying they're done and they can be erased from the school's system.

I'm really not sure how I feel about that just yet - I should be happy but I really just feel like throwing up a little bit. My feelings aren't attached to my tear ducts, they're attached to my gag reflex, go figure. But then again, the nausea could be a product of the overdose of peanut butter I had this morning.

Anyway, will let you know how it goes.

This is just an incredibly short post. I was mortified to find out that Sarah Michelle Gellar is naturally BRUNETTE!!!!

I had to find this out, all by myself, on the INTERNET! Just sitting there, matter-of-factly on the page. 'Is a natural brunette. Dyed her hair blonde for her role in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997).'

No-one sat me down and gave me this talk. It should be just parentally tacked onto the end of the Santa talk, "Oh by the way, Buffy's not really blonde". I blame my parents. It's bad parenting.
